Bedford & District C.C. - 26 Apr 2008

Thanks to Linda and Alan and the show management team for the invitation to judge; a pity there were not more Siamese and Orientals though the quality was good. Thanks to Angela for making the long journey to steward for me which she did with her usual expertise and sympathy; I look forward to the next time.

GPC Simpson's PR SHERMESE TOO TOO PATOU (24a) 4 Apr 07

An impressive lad of excellent type. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile which I should prefer to be a little lower at the brow, firm chin with level bite. Expressive eyes of excellent shape and set, which for perfection would be a marginally deeper shade of blue. Long svelte body, long legs with neat paws, tail needing an extra fraction to balance. Points a good blue, the base of the tail slightly brown tinged, lightly shaded body, close coat of very good texture. Superb temperament, excellent presentation.

Res GPC Harrington's GR CH & UK GR PR LITTLEFEAT MOONSTONE (32/10) 15 Sep 97

A large lad of very good type, hardly showing his age. Long wedge with a slight pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, just raised a little between the eyes, very good for his age, firm chin, level bite still boasting a surprising number of incisors. Eyes a little deep set, but of very good shape and set, of a good depth of blue. Long substantial body, long legs with neat paws, tail needing an extra fraction to balance. Marked in a dark but quite cool cream with a liberal sprinkling of freckles to ears and nose: good "M" and single ribbon, no thumbprints, good leg bars, tail three quarters ringed. Moderately shaded body, the shading a little warmer in tone than I should prefer; coat a fraction long but of excellent texture. Appeared a little shy, preferring to hide under his blankets, but sweet-natured; excellent presentation.

Oriental Blue Kitten

1 (BOB N/A) Bennett's TIJANMEEK SOPRANOS F 1 Sep 07

A girl of reasonably good type. Long wedge with a small pinch, needing more width at the top, large ears set in line. Profile straight except for a shallow depression above the brow, very firm chin, bite level. Eyes of very good shape and set of a good clear green. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction to balance. Colour a darkish blue, showing rather a clear ghost pattern, and rather unsound over most of the body. Close coat of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Chocolate Point Adult

1 (CC N/A) Scott-Brown's KEVELS KHAYMAN ROCHER M 17 Jul 07

A lad of reasonably good type, still looking distinctly kittenish. Medium length even wedge, needing a little more width at the top, large ears set in line. Small dip in profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set and of a good depth of blue. Longish body needing more muscle, long legs with neat paws, tail needing an extra inch for balance. Points a dark chocolate though not without warmth, even the legs and tail distinctly dark. Warm ivory body lightly shaded over the hips, coat rather full and soft in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Caramel Point Adult

1 (CC N/A) Bowles-Gowdy's CH TINTALLY MAFDET-ESQUIRE M 24 Dec 05

A stylish lad of very good type. Long even wedge showing a degree of jowling, good width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm deep chin, missing all but the outer pair of lower incisors but those set clearly in front of the upper set, showing the bite to be undershot, my only reason not to award the certificate. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a good depth of blue, with an inscrutable expression. Long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needing an extra fraction to balance. Points of a very good blue-based caramel showing clear brownish overtones, body moderately shaded along back and hips, lightly elsewhere, close coat a little harsh in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Red Point Adult

1+CC+BOB Bearman's GLENTHORNE JEMIMA ROUGE F 19 Jul 07

A very promising girl of very good type, of sufficient maturity for her age. Longish wedge with a small pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin, bite scissored over. Eyes of good shape and set of a good depth of blue but a fraction dull. Long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points of quite a good bright red, very lightly shaded body, close coat of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Tortie Point Adult

1+CC+BOB Jones's AMYDAY ALMOST HEAVEN (32b8) F 21 Aug 07

A most impressive girl of excellent type. Longish even wedge, very good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile just a little flat above the brow, firm chin with level bite. Eyes of excellent shape and set, of a very good depth of blue. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour a darkish lilac-based caramel well broken everywhere, with plenty of hot apricot in evidence, and an attractive blaze. Very lightly shaded body, coat a fraction long but of very good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Apricot Point Adult

1+IC+BOB Turner's APPLEJACK SUMMERHEAT M 27 Feb 07

A youngster of sufficient maturity for his age, of good type. Medium length even wedge, jowls starting to form, good width at the top, well set large ears which he does tend to bonnet. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set, of a good depth of blue. Long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch or two to balance. Points a good warm dingy-toned apricot, lightly shaded body, coat a little long and slightly harsh in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Tabby Point Neuter

1+PC Hainsworth's BILLSTES CREAM SENSATION (32/6) MN 9 Apr 07

A youngster of good type, and of just acceptable maturity for his age. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm but slightly shallow chin, level bite. Eyes of good shape and set though he did open them rather wide out of the pen, of a good depth of blue. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs a fraction to balance with a slight irregularity at the tip. Marked in a pale cool cream, the tail and hocks a little darker and with just a hint of warmth: clear "M", single ribbon, no thumbprints, very faint leg bars, tail three quarters ringed. Unshaded body, close coat of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Oriental Aristocrat Neuter

1 Ellis's MYLYNN MOONSHADOW (62 20) MN 9 Dec 06

An impressive lad of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Expressive eyes of very good shape and set of a clear pale green. Long well fed muscular body, long legs with largish paws, tail needs an extra inch or two to balance. Marked in jet black, sound to the roots, but the ground colour rather grey, certainly not the warm coppery brown required. Scarab rather fused over the top of the head, elaborate ribbons, clear thumbprints, two broken necklaces. Spine line a little broken at the shoulders and above the base of the tail, but solid elsewhere, some clear spots on the sides but mostly linked, good clear spots on shoulders, the rest of the front legs mostly barred but breaking into spots near the paws, well barred rear legs, good rings to tail. Coat of excellent texture but distinctly short everywhere on the body except underneath, well furnished plume and ears, some toe furnishings. Excellent temperament and presentation.,

Siamese/Balinese Breeders Adult

1 Harrington's IMP GR PR HELLFIRE CASTASPELL (32/10) M 26 Nov 03

A strong mature lad of excellent type to whom I awarded an Imperial certificate just four weeks ago, and looking equally good today. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin, bite lacking most incisors but level. Expressive eyes of excellent shape and set and very good depth of blue. Very long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Marked in a good dingy toned warm apricot: clear "M" and single ribbon, no thumbprints, good leg bars, tail two thirds ringed. Lightly shaded body, close coat just a little harsh in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation. A difficult decision, but I thought he just had the edge over the glamorous girl.
