Humberside C.C. - 12 Apr 2008

Thanks to the show management team for the invitation to judge, a pity the entry was not larger, though it did have a specialist Siamese show in competition for entries: the quality however was good. Thanks to Rosie for coming along to steward.

Open Classes

Imperial Class - AC Siamese/Balinese Grand Premier, Male

IGPC Webb's UK GR PR APRIKAT SAILSINTHESUNSET (61dt) 18 Apr 03

A large mature lad of very good type, not having one of his more confident days. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm deep chin, bite lacking most incisors now but appears level. Eyes of very good shape and set of a good depth of blue. Long strong body, long legs with surprisingly neat paws, tail needs an extra inch or two to balance. Marked in a good bright red: clear "M", thumbprints, single ribbon, good leg bars, some tail rings. Coat of goods length and excellent soft silky texture, flowing well, well furnished plume, good foot and ear furnishings. Handled well despite his shyness, excellent temperament. I believe this was his fifth and qualifying Imperial certificate, making him the first Balinese to achieve the title - congratulations.

Res IGPC Pounds's IMP GR PR JOMESE JACKTHELAD (24a) 7 Apr 05

A lad of very good type, just lacking in the final degree of masculinity. Long wedge with a small pinch, very good width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm chin of adequate depth, level bite though without many incisors now. Eyes of excellent shape and set of a good depth of blue. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, tail needing an extra fraction to balance. Points a good blue, the tail slightly darker, moderately shaded body cool-toned under the shading. Close coat of very good texture, excellent temperament and presentation.

Oriental Blue Kitten

1+BOB Armitage's CHAPELROSE OHMEOHMY M 13 Nov 07

A well grown lad of very good type. Long almost even wedge, good width at the top, very large ears set a fraction low. Profile with a small dip below the brow and a shallow depression above, not a serious problem in a kitten of this age. Firm deep chin, bite scissored over. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a good but slightly dull green. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour a slightly dark blue almost sound to the roots, showing a fairly clear ghost spotted pattern on the flanks, close coat of excellent texture. Really outstanding temperament; excellent presentation. While not without his faults, they were all such as he is likely to grow out of, so I considered it unreasonable not to award Best of Breed.

Oriental Spotted Tabby Kitten

1+BOB Armitage's CHAPELROSE OHMYMYMY (38g) F 13 Nov 07

A charming pretty girl of good type. Longish wedge with a small pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set of a slightly muddy green as yet. Proportionate well fed body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour a good blue, mostly patched rather than mingled with a pale cool-toned cream, ground a pale oatmeal. Good scarab, no thumbprints, multiple cheek ribbons, three broken necklaces. Spine line showing signs of broken but still fairly solid as yet, tail fully ringed with a solid stripe on top. Largish spots on body showing some linkage, with very little agouti invasion and completely sound to the roots. Good leg bars, with distinct small spots across the shoulders and towards the toes of the front legs. Close coat of excellent texture; excellent temperament and presentation. All her pattern imperfection were such as I thought likely to clear with age.

Blue Point Adult

1 (CC N/A) Fawcett's ADSETAM BONBON BLUEBABA M 29 Apr 07

A lad of reasonably good type and adequate maturity for his age. Medium length wedge, a little short in the muzzle, needing a little more width at the top, ears of just sufficient size set in line. Small dip in profile, chin ebbs rather, bite overshot and slightly twisted (confirmed by the duty vet). Eyes of good shape set rather straight, which ideally would be a rather deeper blue. Medium length firm body, legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction to balance. Points a good blue, lightly shaded cool-toned body, close coat of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Apricot Point Adult

1+IC+BOB Simpson's FLUTTERBY FAROUK M 3 May 07

A rather shy lad of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set and good depth of blue. Long strong body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch or two to balance. Points a palish warm apricot showing clear brownish overtones, moderately shaded body, coat a fraction long and slightly harsh in texture. A pity he lacks self-confidence, though he handled well; excellent presentation.

Seal Point Neuter

1 (CC N/A) Westoby's TINTALLY WAYFARER MN 14 Oct 00

A large nervous lad of fair type. Long wedge rather broad in the muzzle and with a small pinch, top needs more width and the large ears were set rather high. Small dip in profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes a little full needing to be a deeper shade of blue. Long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour an excellent warm true seal brown, very unusual to see, and the body colour though moderately shaded was also an excellent warm shade. Close coat of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Miscellaneous Classes

Oriental Breeders Adult

1 Wildon's GR CH SUNJADE STARDUST (45k) F 16 Dec 05

A lady of excellent type, looking very good today. Medium length even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile straight apart from a small bump on the nose, firm deep chin, bite level. Eyes of very good shape and set of a good clear green. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour a good warm cinnamon, showing three bands of ticking, the spine a shade darker; tail almost free of rings, but clear tabby markings on the other extremities, which though not required I prefer to see. Close coat of excellent texture. Very vocal, in an attempt to intimidate which failed lamentably, excellent presentation.

2 Read's ADAJAN VOODOO DOLL (48e) F 23 Apr 07

A girl of good type and size, but today rather lightweight, with the spine too evident - I wonder whether she has been spending too much time of late calling. Longish even wedge needing a little more width at the top, large ears set in line. Small bump on nose, profile rather angled down from the brow, chin firm but rather shallow, bite lacking most lower incisors scissored over. Eyes of good shape and set of a clear pale green. Long strong body, long legs with neat paws, good length of tail rather blunt at the tip. Colour jet black patched with shades of rather pale red all sound to the roots. White over much of the face below the eyes and a little above, with an attractive red patch below the nose. White on the ears, the complete underbody, the front shoulders, chest and neck and most of the front legs with small coloured patches, plenty of white on the rear legs, the total rather over half white to colour. Some bleeding of white into the boundaries of the coloured areas, and some isolated white hairs in the black areas Close coat of good texture; excellent temperament, presentation needing more attention.

Oriental Non-Breeders Neuter

1 Webb's GR PR APRIKAT SHADOWSINTHESKY (62 20) MN 10 Jun 03

A handsome armful and a half of very good type. Longish strong well balanced wedge, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm chin and level bite. Expressive eyes of excellent shape and set of a good clear green. Long very well fed body, long legs with large paws, tail need an extra inch or two to balance. Marked in a jet black sound to the roots, the ground colour quite a warm brown. Good scarab up to half way up the forehead, but solid above that, clear thumbprints, double ribbons, 2 unbroken necklaces, unfortunately a broad solid strip over the entire back, reasonably distinct spots on the sides though showing a little linkage, distinct small spots over the shoulders, the rest of the front legs and the rear legs well barred, well ringed tail. Coat of superb texture which I would prefer to see significantly longer, but I did find its length just adequate, a little frilling at the neck. Good plume, well furnished feet and ears. Excellent temperament and presentation.

2 Copeland's PR WESTGARTH THERUMOURIS (29) MN 20 Jan 05
