Balinese & Siamese Cat Club - 21 July 2012

Thanks to Sylvia and the committee for the invitation to judge at this friendly show. Thanks also to Jasmine for stewarding for me, her first attempt I understand, though I would never have guessed it from her expert and sympathetic handling. I look forward to the next occasion.

Open Classes

AC Siamese/Balinese Champion Male

1 (GCC N/A) Pinington's CH SPINDIAMOND PRIMITIVE (61) 15 Dec 10
A lad of good type and reasonable maturity, but today totally lacking in self-confidence, happy only under all his blankets. Medium length wedge, good width at the top, ears just large enough, well set in general though apprehension did cause him to flatten them at times. Profile rather undulating and with quite a dip, firm chin, level bite lacking most incisors. Eyes of good shape set rather straight, of a good depth of blue. Long weighty body, long legs with largish paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points of a dark warm seal, rather brindled to mask and front legs, lightly shaded body a little cool in tone. Attractive ear fronds and well furnished paws, good plume, coat a little short to the back and upper sides, texture overall disappointingly lacking the typical soft silky feel, and a little greasy along the spine. Excellent presentation and handled well.

AC Siamese/Balinese Champion Female

GCC Pummell's CH MAFDET MISS SISAR (32b8) 30 Jun 11
A girl of good maturity for her age and of very good type. Longish wedge with a small pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set and very good depth of blue if just a little dull. Long slender muscular body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points a good browny-hued blue-based caramel mingled with shades of pale apricot, though short of the hotter tones. Moderately shaded body, coat close and of good texture. Excellent temperament if a little shy; excellent presentation.
Res Woodhouse's CH DORAL IMOGENE (61e) 22 Jun 07
A mature girl of good type. Strong medium length wedge head, a little broad in the muzzle, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm chin, hardly any incisors but gums level. Eyes of good shape and set and of a good depth of blue. Long firm body, long legs with largish paws, tail needing an extra inch to balance. Points of good seal well broken with shades of red, with plenty of bright red in evidence, lightly shaded body with a good warmth of tone. Coat of good length and of a very good soft silky texture, reasonable furnishings to toes and ears, good plume. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Red Point Adult

BOB Reed's GR CH HELSBELS CHUCHOTEZ-LE (32a) F 11 Sep 09
An extremely attractive substantial girl of excellent type. Longish even wedge, very good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm deep chin with a charming beard, level bite lacking some incisors. Eyes of excellent shape and set and of a good deep blue, with an inscrutable expression. Long firm muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction to balance. Points a good bright red to the ears, a little paler on the other points, some colour on the limbs, unshaded body. Coat a fraction long but of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

A substantial mature girl of good type. Longish wedge4 with a small pinch, needing just a fraction more width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, front of head angled back a little, bite level. Eyes of good shape and set though she did open them a little wide while out, of a good depth of blue. Long strong body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch to balance. Points of a darkish but cool-toned cream, lightly shaded body, coat a little long of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Red Point Kitten, Female

An excellent class. A pity that there were several absentees, but the two that were present were enough to give me a headache, with neither deserving to come second.
1+BOB Webster's JOHPAS SIAMSPICE 22 Oct 11
A girl of excellent type, but for one almost adult I should prefer her a little larger. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, chin ebbs slightly, level bite. Eyes of excellent shape and set, and good depth of blue. Long strong body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points a slightly pale but bright red, unshaded body, coat close and of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
2 Studer's MYLYNN MARYJO-MALONE 31 Jan 12
A well grown girl of very good type, Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, with a very shallow depression above the brow, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape, set rather straight, of a good depth of blue but showing an intermittent squint. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points of quite a good bright red, unshaded body, coat short and close lying but a little harsh in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Tabby Point Neuter

BOB Tobias's IMP GR PR SHERMESE FUNANDGAMES (32/1) MN 9 Sep 06
A handsome mature lad of excellent type. Strong long even wedge, good width at the top, large ear very well set. Straight profile, deep chin which does ebb distinctly, bite scissored over lacking many incisors. Expressive eyes of excellent shape and set and good depth of blue. Long muscular body, long legs with large paws, tail needs an extra inch to balance. Markings in a good warm seal are quite well defined, with good leg bars and head markings, though the "M" is a little blurred, tail half ringed. Lightly shaded body, coat close and of very good texture. A friendly lad, but not an extrovert and preferring the safety of his pen. Excellent presentation.
Also considered Woodhouse's PR DORAL NAJINSKI (32/5) MN 15 Jan 11
A handsome well developed lad, of very good type, but another shrinking violet! Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set though he does open them rather wide, of very good depth of blue. Long firm muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch. Marked in a palish though bright red, good facial markings and tail rings, front leg bars definitely present though pale, no rear ones yet.. Unshaded body, short close-lying coat of excellent texture. Excellent presentation, handled well.

A lad of very good type but still looking rather youthful and innocent. Longish even wedge, good width at the toip, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set, I should prefer a slightly deeper shade of blue. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction.
