Cumberland C.C. - 13 October 2012

Thanks to Jenny, Simon and the show Committee for the invitation to judge and the hospitality, always one of my favourite shows and with a decent entry; in the absence of several judges I was a substitute for several classes, which I hope exhibitors didn't mind too much. Thanks to Jo Law for stewarding for me for the first time but I hope by no means the last.

Open Classes

AC Oriental Champion, Female

GCC Cassar-Simmonds's FIORDILISO CHANA (37e) 8 Feb 11
An attractive well balanced girl of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set, of a palish olive green. Long firm muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch. Colour sound to the roots, jet black well mingled with shades of red; I would prefer more bright red in the mixture, but there is some. Coat short and close-lying, of very good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Havana Adult

1 (CC N/A) Tosun-Jones's SAMBOUZOUKI OLYMPUS F 19 Jul 11
A girl of good type. Medium length wedge with rather a pinch, needing a little more width at the top; large ears well set. Dip in profile, chin ebbs a little, bite level. Eyes of good shape though on the full side, of a slightly yellow-toned green. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour a little dark though warm, a little unsound, showing a faint ghost classic pattern. Coat short and close and of good texture with a glossy appearance. Excellent temperament and presentation.
BOB Hamilton's GR CH TRELGANDORF BURNT SIENNA F 24 May 06
An attractive girl of good type. Longish wedge with a small pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile though a little angled down from the brow, firm chin ; bite level though lacking most incisors. Eyes of good shape and set of a clear green though a little paler than the ideal for the breed. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch. Colour quite a good chestnut, coloured to the roots and with good warmth, showing a faint ghost spotted pattern; coat a fraction long but close lying and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

BOB Cassar-Simmonds's FIORDILISO CHANA (37e) F

Oriental Tortie Kitten

1+BOB Cassar-Simmonds's FIORDILISO LADYMORGANA (37e) F 23 Mar 12
An attractive and very promising girl of excellent type. Medium length even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm deep chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape, of an olive green. Long firm muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Colour jet black mingled with shades of bright red, sound to the roots, an attractive red patch to the right of her face. Coat short and close and of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation. My nomination for best Oriental in preference to her mother.
2 Harvey's ENIGMATIC BREATHOFLIFE (37e) F 13 Mar 12
An attractive girl of good type, unlucky in her competition today. Longish wedge with a small pinch, needing a fraction more width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip to profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set, of a pale green. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Colour jet black mingled a little sparsely with shades of red, some bright red in the mixture. Coat short and close, of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Seal Point Siamese Adult

1 (CC N/A) Hetherington's SIMPLISIAM CIDER WITH ROSY F 27 Jul 09
A girl of goodish type, on the small side for a mature adult. Longish wedge, rather fine muzzle and a pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Quite a dip in profile, very firm though shallow chin, bite very messy but basically almost level. Eyes of good shape and set, of too pale a blue for a seal point though her dilated pupils made that quite difficult to see. Longish firm body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch or two. Points something of a conundrum, more like a very dark chocolate to the mask, ears and front legs, which the front pads support, but the hind legs and tail appear a good seal and the body colour agrees with that. Body moderately shaded, close coat of good texture. Shy, good presentation but a pedicure would not have gone amiss.

Seal Point Siamese Neuter

BOB N/A Clarke's PR FOXYPAWS BENTLY MN 19 Jul 10
A lad of good type. Long wedge with a small pinch, needing a fraction more width at the top, well set large ears. Profile straight apart from a small bump on the nose, the line of the front of the head well away from the vertical, the chin weak as a result and also rather shallow, bite level. Eyes of good shape and set, their colour though bright needs to be a much deeper blue. Very long strong body, long legs with neat paws, very long tail. Points darkish warm seal, moderately shaded body, coat close and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Red Point Siamese Neuter

BOB Thorpe's GR CH JOHPAS SPARKS WILL FLY MN 12 Nov 10
An impressive lad of excellent type. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin with a small beard, level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a good depth of blue. Very long strong body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction to balance the extra body length. Points a bright but slightly pale red, unshaded body, coat a fraction long but close lying, of a rather rough texture. Excellent temperament and presentation. My nomination for best Siamese, which I was pleased to award him later on.
Also considered Duncan's IMP GR PR BRYTHAIS SIMPLY RED MN 30 May 02
A large lad of good type. Long wedge with a small pinch, needing a little more width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm slightly shallow chin, level bite still holding on to a good many incisors. Eyes of good shape set a little straight, of a good depth of blue. Long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch. Points a very good bright red, lightly shaded body, coat a little long and rather soft in texture. Exellent temperament and presentation.

Apricot Point Neuter

BOB Saxon's GR PR EIREACHDAIL GALAHAD MN 26 Jun 11
A lad of very good type. Long wedge with a tiny pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape, set a little straight, of a good depth of blue. Long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch. Points a good warm dingy-hued apricot, lightly shaded body, coat close but a little harsh in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Long firm substantial body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction.
