Red Point & Tortie Point Siamese C.C. - 31 March 2012

Thanks to Janet and the committee for the invitation to judge, and for the excellent food. Good to see a breed show which without resort to going back to back manages to attract a healthy entry - and one of high quality too. Thanks also to Joan who was an expert steward as always.

AC Siamese Grand Champion Female

IGCC Reed's GR CH HELSBELS CHUCHOTEZ-LE (32a) 11 Sep 09
A very attractive mature and substantial girl of excellent type. Longish even wedge, lovely width at the top, large ears which she did hold a little lower than I should ideally prefer. Straight profile, firm deep chin with an attractive beard, level bite lacking some incisors. Expressive eyes of excellent shape and set and of a good deep blue. Long muscular weighty body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction to balance. Points a darkish bright red, some colour to the limbs too, unshaded body. Coat a fraction long but of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
Res Rigby's GR CH JOHPAS SUMMALOVIN (32a) 12 Nov 10
Another very attractive girl of excellent type, but unsurprisingly given her age without the degree of the maturity of the winner. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, chin with depth but could be a little firmer and with a beard which seems to run in the family, level bite. Eyes of excellent shape set just a little straight, of a good depth of blue. Long slender muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch. Points quite a good bright red, unshaded body, coat a little long but of very good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation. She just needs to fill out a bit to run the winner very close indeed - probably a litter would do the trick,

Lilac Point Neuter, Male

Considered for BOB: Kersey's UK GR PR MALIKASIAM WILBUR-MEWZED 6 Sep 07
A very substantial lad in all dimensions, of good type. Long even wedge, needing a fraction more width at the top to balance, well set large ears. Small dip to profile, firm slightly shallow chin, bite level lacking most incisors. Eyes of good shape and set and good depth of blue. Very long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra inch to balance the extra body length. Points a darkish lilac and rather flat in tone, lacking much in the way of pinky overtones, moderate shading to lower back and hindquarters. Coat short and close of excellent texture. A little retiring but handled well; excellent presentation.

Lilac Point Neuter, Female

BOB Martin's GR CH & UK IMP GR PR ABICSA CARMINA BURANA 13 Feb 07
A girl of excellent unexaggerated type and superb points colour. Strong medium length even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears which she did drop a little low at times. Profile almost straight though a little raised at the bridge of the nose, firm chin and level bite. Expressive eyes of excellent shape and set, of a good depth of blue. Longish well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction to balance. Points of excellent pale pinky lilac, lightly shaded body with a curious darker patch to the top of the neck. Coat a fraction long but close-lying and of very good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
Eventually my well-deserved choice for BIS neuter.

Tabby Point Adult

1+CC+BOB Bowles-Gowdy's MYLYNN MISS MIMOSA (32t1) F 1 Feb 11
A large and surprisingly mature girl for her age, of very good type. Long wedge with a tiny pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears which she does have a tendency to flatten.. Small dip to profile, firm slightly shallow chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set though a little deep set, of a good depth of blue. Long strong body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction to balance. Marked in a dark seal well mingled with shades of red, some bright red in the mixture. Good facial markings though no thumbprints as usual for a tortie-tabby, good leg bars, tail fully ringed though with a lot of agouti to the upper half. Moderately shaded body, coat short and close-lying, a little harsh in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
2 Butler's HELLFIRE CASTINGSPELLS (32/10) F 12 Feb 11
A girl of good type, though lacking the maturity of the winner. Medium length even wedge, good width at the top, well set ears which ideally be a little larger. Small dip in profile, firm slightly shallow chin, level bite. Eyes of good shape and set and good depth of blue. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Marked in a good dingy-hued apricot, good facial markings though no thumbprints, leg bars just visible, tail three quarters ringed. Lightly shaded body, coat short and close and of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Red Point Neuter, Male

1+PC Woodfield's LITTLEFEAT DANNY BOY 1 May 11
A restless lad of good type, of reasonable maturity for his age. Long even wedge, good width at the top, large ears well set in repose though with a tendency to hold them a little high when out. Profile almost straight, very firm chin, bite scissored over. Eyes of very good shape and set, though I should prefer a slightly deeper blue. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points a slightly pale though bright red, lightly shaded body, coat short and close and of excellent texture. Shy though easy to handle, excellent presentation.
Considered for BOB
Blanks's PR JOHPAS RED EDDIE 6 Aug 09
Large handsome lad of good type. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, chin a little shallow and ebbs rather, bite level. Eyes of good shape and set, needing a little more depth of blue. Long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points a deepish bright red, lightly shaded body, coat close and of good texture. Rather shy; excellent presentation.
Emmens's GR PR CHIARIKKI TRIBAL WARRIOR 10 Apr 05
A large handsome lad of very good type. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm deep chin, level gums. Eyes of very good shape and set and good depth of blue. Long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points a very good bright red, lightly shaded body, coat a little long but of good texture. A very vocal lad who preferred the safety of his pen, presentation no doubt excellent before re-arranged for comfort.

Red Point Neuter, Female

BOB Cook's GR PR TIANLEX PRETTY FLAMINGO 5 Sep 10
A very impressive girl of excellent type. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile straight except for a substantial bump to the nose, really the only detail for which I could fault her. Firm deep chin and level bite. Expressive eyes of very good shape and set and very good depth of blue. Long firm muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail almost of length to balance. Points of good bright red, very lightly shaded body, coat short and close and of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Balinese Neuter

BOB N/A Woodhouse's GR PR DORAL LEBRUIN (61fnt) MN 12 Oct 09
A large lad of good type, today completely lacking in self-confidence: he cowered under any available bit of cover in his pen and when out tried his best to make a leap back to safety. Longish wedge with a rather full muzzle and therefore something of a pinch, needing a little more width at the top, ears though well set need to be a little larger. Profile with a slight dip below the brow and quite a bump lower down, giving a distinctly undulating impression. Firm deep chin lacking most incisors, bite level nevertheless. Eyes of good shape and set, a little deep set and also little on the small side; they did have a good depth of blue. Long firm body, long legs with large paws, tail needs an extra inch to balance. Coat frilling a little round the neck, but otherwise lacking in length today except to the underbody; the texture however was excellent. Fairly good plume, well furnished paws and ears. Marked in a good sandy-hued apricot, good facial markings and tail rings, leg bars present but faint. Moderately shaded body; Excellent presentation. Sorry, but for me the lack of coat length precluded award of Best of Breed

Miscellaneous Classes

AC Maiden Adult

1 Bowles-Gowdy's MAFDET MASQUERADE (24n) M 30 Jun 11
A large lad of excellent type and very good maturity considering he is only just adult. Long even wedge, good width between well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set and good depth of blue. Long strong slightly plump body, long legs with neat paws, tail almost of sufficient length to balance. Point a very good dingy lilac-based caramel, very lightly shaded body, short close-lying coat of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
2 Pounds's JOMESE JENNI-IGOTBLUSPOTS (32b2) F 2 Nov 10
An impressive girl also of excellent type. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm deep chin and level bite. Eyes of excellent shape and set and of a superb deep blue, with just the hint of an occasional 'Siamese expression'. Long slender muscular body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points of darkish blue mingled with shades of pale cool cream, moderately shaded body, coat close and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

AC Adolescent Adult

1 Pummell's MAFDET MISS SISAR (32b8) F 30 Jun 11
An impressive girl of very good type, litter sister I see to the winner of the previous class and like him of really impressive maturity for her age. Longish almost even wedge, goods width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set and very good depth of blue. Long slender muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail almost balances. Points a good sludgy blue-based caramel mingled with shades of pale apricot, lacking the deeper foreground tones. Lightly shaded body, coat close and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
2 Reed's CH JOHPAS JESSIE JAY (32fn) F 23 Apr 11

Long strong body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points a sandy-hued apricot, very lightly shaded body, coat short and close-lying but a little harsh in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
3 Butler's HELLFIRE CASTINGSPELLS (32/10) F

AC Kitten

1 Alefounder's MAFDET MALARKY (24) M 22 Sep 11
A very well grown lad of good type. Longish even wedge needing a fraction more width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set needing a little more depth of blue. Points looking in the pen as though they were verging on black, but when taken to daylight proved just a very dark seal possessing reasonable warmth. Lightly shaded body, coat short, close-lying and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

AC Limit Kitten

1 Butler's DESTRIER TWIRL (32/3) F 1 Jul 11
A girl of reasonably good type, but worryingly small still given that she is only a day short of being adult. Medium length wedge with a small pinch, good width at the top, well set ears which would ideally be a little bigger. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set needing a fraction more depth of blue. Medium length firm body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Well marked in a good warm chocolate, though the "M" not completely formed, double ribbons, good leg bars, tail fully covered by broad rings. Unshaded body, coat short and close-lying and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

AC Kitten 14 weeks - 6 months

1 Webster's JOHPAS SIAMSPICE (32a) F 22 Oct 11
A very promising kitten of excellent type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of excellent shape and set, and good depth of blue. Long slender muscular body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points of a promising red, unshaded body, coat close and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation. Deservedly best kitten later on - indeed, she had impressed all the judges enough that she was the only nomination for best female.
2 Collins's ALEXSIAM KATMOSS (32a) F 4 Oct 11
Another promising kitten of very good type, perhaps just a shade on the small size for her age. Longish wedge with a small pinch, good width between well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set, though I should prefer slightly more depth of blue. Long slender body, long legs with tiny paws, balancing length of tail. Good red points, unshaded body, coat close and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
3 Simpson's ADELFAM TIGERMOONMIZADORA (24) F 5 Oct 11
A elegant girl of good type. Medium length wedge a little full in the muzzle and with a small pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set and good depth of blue. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points of a dark seal though warm, almost unshaded body but a little cool in tone. Coat a fraction long but close lying and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
4 Lyons's DERRYLEON MOTOMOUTHMABEK (24r) F 28 Oct 11
A kitten of reasonably good type who was rather small for her age, giving more the impression of one just old enough for the show than her 5 months. Quite short but even wedge, good width between large ears. Straight profile, chin ebbs rather, bite scissored over. Eyes of good shape if held a little full, straight set and needing significant extra depth of blue. Proportional slender body, fine limbs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points a good fawn, he best feature, unshaded body, coat still rather kittenish. Excellent temperament if a little shy; excellent presentation.

AC Kitten 6 - 9 months

1 Bowles-Gowdy's MAFDET ROSE-GOLD (24b) F 22 Sep 11
A kitten of very good type but in an unfortunate stage of her development with the body growth having outstripped that of the head, which appears rather small in consequence. Long even wedge, good width at the top, large ears held a little low. Straight profile, firm chin though I would prefer a more vertical line to the front of the head, bite scissored over. Eyes of good shape, set a little straight, of a good depth of blue. Long well fed body long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Point of quite a dark chocolate all very brindled, unshaded body, coat close and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
2 Corps's PANDAI BARTI (61dt) MN 2 Sep 11
A lad of good type. Longish wedge with a small pinch, needing a fraction more width at the top; large ears set in line. Profile straight except for a bump on the nose, firm deep chin and level bite. Eyes of good basic shape if a little on the full side, well set, needing a little more depth of blue. Long slender body, long legs with largish paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Coat of promising length and excellent texture, well furnished feet and quite a good plume. Marked in bright red, with good facial markings , the tail rings and leg bars just discernable. Unshaded body. Excellent temperament and presentation.
x3 Butler's DESTRIER TWIRL (32/3) F

AC Novice Neuter

1 Pounds's IMP GR CH JOMESE JENNY MANYDOTS (32b1) FN 3 Aug 07
A girl of very good type. Long even wedge, good width between large well set ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set, ideally I would prefer a slightly deeper blue. Long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points of a good seal all well broken with shades of red though not much bright red in evidence other than on the ears. Moderately shaded body, coat short and close and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

AC Senior Neuter

1 Emmens's GR PR CHIARIKKI TRIBAL WARRIOR (32a) MN
2 Pounds's GR CH & IMP GR PR JOMESE JENUINELY GORJUS (32a) FN 4 May 06
A mature girl of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile raised at the brow now but otherwise straight, very firm chin, level bite with only three incisors now. Eyes of very good shape and set and good depth of blue. Long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points a rather pale red, almost unshaded body, close coat of very good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
x2 Kersey's UK GR PR MALIKASIAM WILBUR-MEWZED (24c) MN
3 Janicki's SHERMESE LIFE O'RILEY (32/1) MN 10 Sep 08
An elegant lad of very good type, but unfortunately of rather diminutive stature and for me lacking in masculinity. Nicely balanced longish wedge, good width between large well set ears. Straight profile angled down slightly from the brow and with a little bump at the top, chin ebbs a little, level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set which he did open a little wide the better to display their really good deep blue colour. Long firm body, long legs with neat paw, tail needing an extra fraction. Marked in a darkish seal, with good facial markings and leg bars, tail just about half ringed. Moderately shaded body, close coat of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presenttion.
x3 Woodhouse's GR PR DORAL LEBRUIN (61fnt) MN

AV Radius Neuter

1 Woodhouse's PR DORAL NAJINSKI (32/5) MN 15 Jan 11
A handsome lad of very good type, today very timid and retiring. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Well set eyes of good shape which he did open very wide rather spoiling his expression, of a very good depth of blue. Long strong body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Fairly well marked in a slightly pale red, good facial markings and tail rings, leg bars hardly visible as yet. Unshaded body, short close-lying coat of very good texture. Excellent presentation, handled well but would look so much better with some added self-confidence.
2 Wareham's PR FLUTTERBY YONGZHEN (32fn) MN 14 Jul 08
A handsome lad of good type. Medium length even wedge, good width between large well set ears. Straight profile, firm chin, bite lacking upper incisors but judging by the distance between the canines is a little undershot. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a slightly impure blue, such as one does sometimes see in apricots. Long well fed muscular body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail, Points of good dingy hued apricot, heavily shaded body (showing quite good spots) but still adequate contrast. Excellent temperament and presentation.

AV Visitors Neuter

1 Emmens's IMP GR PR JOHPAS JACKSPARROW (32c) MN 5 Sep 07
A large lad of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile angled down from the brow and with quite a bump on the nose, firm slightly shallow chin, bite level. Expressive eyes of excellent shape and set needing more depth of blue. Long well feed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needing an extra fraction to balance. Colour a darkish but cool cream to mask and front legs, darker still and very warm to tail and hind legs, moderately shaded body showing the same division. Coat close and of very good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
2 Wallace's PR ROZANDEN COSIMO (24) MN 23 May 09
A handsome lad of very good type, but unfortunately in my view not a seal point as registered but a very dark chocolate, and strictly speaking I should have marked him as "wrong colour" rather than taking the old-fashioned approach. Long even wedge, good width between well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good shape and set and good depth of blue. Long firm well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction to balance. Body moderately shaded with good contrast still. Coat short and close-lying. Excellent temperament and presentation.
3 Ellis's MAFDET TUXEDO (24) MN 6 Sep 10
A handsome lad of good type, but rather slight in build. Medium length wedge with a small pinch, good width between large well set ears. Profile almost straight, chin ebbs a little, bite scissored over. Eyes of good shape and set, but they need to be of a deeper blue. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction.
Points a very dark seal though not without warmth, moderately shaded body. Coat short and close lying, of goiod texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
4 Powell's PR SHERMESE JENNYWREN (24) FN
A girl of good type but totally disinclined to cooperate with being judged, and with plenty to say about the indignity. Medium length wedge a little fine in the muzzle and with a small pinch, good width between well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm deep chin, level bite lacking most incisors. Eyes of very good shape and set needing more depth of blue. Long slender muscular body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Points a dark seal, body quite shaded, coat close and of very good texture. Excellent presentation.

Best Eye Colour Adult/Kitten/Neuter

Both of these cats had a eyes of an impressively deep bright blue, making the task of deciding between them by no means an easy one.

HHP Miscellaneous Classes

Debutant Neuter or Kitten

1 Birkett's ANAKIN (Lilac Point SH) MN 11 Months
A large well fed lad of foreign appearance, sporting striking bright pale blue eyes with dark lilac points. Coat in excellent condition. Not totally relaxed, definitely a little wary, but handled well nevertheless
2 Emmens's WILL SCARLET (Red Point SH) MN 5 Years
A handsome Siamese lad with striking red points and good blue eye colour, attractive freckles to his nose too. Unfortunately, by the time we reached him he had had enough and was prepared to cooperate only minimally, even when returned to his pen.
