Cumberland CC - 12 October 2013

Thanks to Jenny, Simon and the show Committee for the invitation to judge and the hospitality. Entry up on last year though sadly not in the Siamese and Oriental sections (though the absentees didn't help). Thanks to Rachel for stepping in to steward for me - a pleasure as always.

Open Classes

Oriental Grand Champion Female

GCC Webbs's CH CHANTEUR SHADY LADY (62 43e) 6 Sep 12
An attractive girl of very good type, looking quite mature for 13 months. Medium length even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Small bump on the nose, profile otherwise straight, firm deep chin, level bite. Eyes of good shape and set, of a good green. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs another inch or two. Pattern colour attractively mingled black and shades of rich red, paler undercolour about two-thirds of the way up the hairs, slightly grey at the roots, little pattern to be seen on the surface. Coat distinctly short over the neck, a reasonably good length on the lower part of the body, elsewhere while I should prefer it longer it was by no means unacceptably short - I saw her only two weeks ago, but I'll swear it has grown in that short time. Super texture. Quite good plume, some furnishings to ears and feet. Rather timid but handled well, excellent presentation.

Oriental Tortie Kitten

2 (1 N/A) Harvey's ENIGMATIC HARLEQUIN (37g) F 1 Jun 13
A very pretty girl of very good type. Medium length even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip to profile, firm deep chin, bite sadly significantly undershot. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a very good pure green. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour a dark blue mingled with shades of warm dark cream coloured to the roots - it would not surprise me if in the end she turns out to be caramel not blue. Coat a shade long but of very good texture. Really wonderful temperament, a definite time-waster, excellent presentation. I do hope the bite sorts itself out.

Chocolate Point Siamese Adult

1+CC+BOB Davies's BURNTHWAITES SCALLYWAG F 5 Dec 12
An attractive girl of adequate maturity. Longish wedge with a small pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile a little flat over the forehead and angled down from the brow, firm deep chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a reasonably good depth of blue. Long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points of rather a dark though warm chocolate, all rather brindled, very lightly shaded body, close coat of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

A very promising baby of very good type. Medium length even wedge, very good width at the top, well set large ears. Eyes of very good shape once relaxed, set a little straight, colour as yet a rather muddy green. Proportionate firm body with a very full tummy, long kegs with neat paws, tail a little short. Colour a rich red sound to the roots showing rather a distinct spotted pattern, very broad inverted V to the face, white to whole underside if chin, throat, chest and almost the whole underside (just a small incursion at mid body), most of the front legs and over the shoulders, about half to the rear legs, and interesting large white splash on the upper back - close to half white. Superb temperament, another who didn't want to return to his pen, excellent presentation.

A lad of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set ears of adequate size. Profile straight apart from a small bump on the nose, firm deep chin, bite level. Eyes of very good shape and set, of quite a good depth of bright blue. Long well fed body, long legs with large paws, tail needs an extra inch or two. Points a slightly dark warm lilac, paws pale but matching in tone, the tail rather fawn. Almost unshaded body, the coat of quite good length to back and upper sides, ideally it would be a little longer, good length elsewhere, texture excellent, good furnishings to paws and ears, good plume. Rather impatient with being handled today, with the odd rude word to say, quite unlike him. Excellent presentation..
