Lincolnshire CC & Humberside CC - 27 July 2013

Thanks to Beryl, Judy and the show committees for the invitation to judge. It was a hot day but thanks to the number of fans provided conditions were bearable. The bright light did seem rather to drain the colour form Siamese eyes, and I had to make appropriate adjustments; curiously, it seemed to have the opposite effect for Orientals with some appearing greener than I had seen them before.

Open Classes

Humberside Imperial Oriental Grand Premier Male

IGPC Castelli's GR PR SENSAY SORBET N CREAM (48 38f) 14 Feb 11
A large well-balanced lad of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm slightly shallow chin, level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set of a pale green. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Colour a darkish and rather warm cream, not much contrast between pattern and ground colour making the markings on the body less distinct, reasonably good to the right side, less so on the left. Lots of white in the required places, adding up to about half white to colour. Coat short and close lying, of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Lincolnshire Oriental Grand Champion, Male

GCC Denyer's CH BARDSONG BANOFFEE PIE (37n) 10 May 10
A very masculine-looking lad of very good type. Medium length even wedge, quite heavy jowls, balancing width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a super vivid green. Long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Colour a mid lilac-based caramel showing adequate browny overtones, good for soundness and without ghost markings. Short close coat of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Lincolnshire Oriental Grand Champion, Female

GCC Helm's CH VELVETENA FAWNYKACHON (37r) 31 May 12
An elegant girl of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile almost straight, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a good green. Long slender yet muscular body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour a good pale warm fawn, coloured to the roots and free of ghost pattern. Coat very short, close lying and of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
Res Moore's CH METEXA HOT LEGS (37k) 28 Jul 11
An attractive girl of good type. Longish wedge with a small pinch, needing a fraction more width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm rather shallow chin, bite almost level. Eyes of good shape and set, of a pale green. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Colour a good warm cinnamon, just marginally unsound and showing very faint spotted ghosting. Coat close and of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Humberside Siamese/Balinese Grand Champion, Male

GPC Musson's PR MAFDET METALLICA (24n) 15 Jan 12
A handsome lad of very good type, some maturing yet to do but very impressive already. Long almost even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile straight, a little flat above the brow, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of excellent shape and set, I should prefer a slightly deeper shade of blue. Long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Good lilac-base caramel points showing plentiful browny overtones, unshaded body, coat close and of good texture. Excellent presentation, excellent temperament, just a little shy.

Humberside Siamese/Balinese Grand Champion, Female

GPC Helm's GR CH & PR MORALYN VELVETENA VISION (24) 2 Sep 02
A girl of good type. Medium length even wedge, needing a fraction more width at the top, well set large ears. Profile raised at the brow as comes with age, and this made the slight dip below seem worse than it really was. Firm chin, no incisors now but bite seems level. Eyes of good shape and set, colour a little faded now. Medium length well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs and extra inch and rather blunt at the tip. Points a good seal, body heavily shaded but still showing adequate contrast, coat a fraction long but of good texture. Excellent temperament and presentation. Not a straightforward decision, but for me she just made the grade.

Humberside Oriental Fawn Adult

BOB Helm's CH VELVETENA FAWNYKACHON (37r) F

Lincolnshire Oriental Longhair Neuter

BOB Hardy's PR PIPPASTRO RED JAZZPUR (62 20d) MN 24 Feb 12
A lad of very good type. Medium length even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm deep chin, level bite. Well set eyes of good shape though he did widen them out of the pen, of a clear green. Long well fed body, long legs with largish paws, tail needs an extra inch at least. Marked in a deep rich red, sound to the roots, spotting showing some linkage, spine-line could be better broken, good tail rings. Coat on the short side over the upper body, of reasonable length elsewhere, texture excellent. Well presented, handled well but very shy.

Small bump on nose, firm slightly shallow chin, level bite. Eyes of good shape and set, a very good blue for a chocolate point. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. A lad of good type. Longish wedge with a small pinch, needing a little more width at the top, well set large ears. Profile raised at the brow but otherwise straight, firm chin, bite scissored over. Eyes of good shape and set, I should prefer a slightly deeper shade of blue. Long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. An attractive girl of very good type. Long wedge with a small pinch, good width at the top, well set large ears. Small dip in profile, firm slightly shallow chin, level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set, of a very good deep blue. Long slender body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points a good warm seal mingled with shades of red, a good proportion of deep red but I should prefer it brighter in tone. Moderately shaded body, coat short and close of excellent texture. Sweet temperament, excellent presentation.

Lincolnshire Balinese Neuter

BOB Hardy's IMP GR PR PIPPASTRO TOMAHAWK (62 40 4) MN 13 May 08
A lad of very good type. Longish even wedge, good width at the top, well set ears of adequate sie. Profile straight apart from a small bump on the nose, firm deep chin, bite level. Eyes of very good shape and set, I would prefer a deeper shade of blue (probably another victim of the lighting). Long well fed body, long legs with large paws, tail needs an extra inch or two. Points a slightly dark warm lilac, front paws very pale just about matching in tone. Very lightly shaded body, the coat I should prefer a little longer but it is summer, texture excellent, good furnishings to paws and ears, good plume. Excellent temperament and presentation.
