Trans-Pennine Oriental & Siamese C.C. - 5 December 2015

Thanks to Joan, Ross and the show committee for the invitation to judge. A good entry and plenty of cats of high quality. The lighting was challenging as usual, flattering to Oriental eye colour but draining the colour from red series cats and unkind to lilacs.

Open Classes

Olympian AV Imperial Grand Champion Male

OGCC Keoghan's UK IGRCH ALDERSTAR ANDRO (OSH em) M 19.1.13
A handsome mature lad of excellent type. Strong medium length even wedge, a degree of jowling evident but I think less than this time last year. Good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set of a good clear green. Long very well nourished body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Colour appeared to be a very good brown tinged apricot showing a little spotted pattern. Coat short and close lying of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation. I confess I did have to think quite hard about the placings here, because his excess poundage is threatening to blur his type, and definitely would if it were to increase at all, but in the end I thought him just the better cat.
Res Brock's UK IGRCH KEVELS TWICE AS NICE (SIA b) M 18.4.10
A mature lad of very good type, looking better I think than I have ever seen him. Longish even wedge just a little broad in the muzzle, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile straight though a little angled down from the brow, firm chin, level bite lacking many incisors. Eyes of very good shape and set, with a good depth of blue. Long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points a marginally dark warm chocolate a little brindled to the tail and paws, moderate shading over the top of head, lightly shaded elsewhere. Short close coat just slightly harsh in texture texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Olympian AV Imperial Grand Premier Male

OGPC Edwards's IGRPR HEMLOCK ALFREDO FERRARI (OSH b 24) MN 5.1.14
A lad of excellent type, very mature, and with an almost exemplary pattern. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm deep chin and level bite. Eyes of excellent shape and set, of a clear palish green. Very long muscular body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Very good markings in a good warm chocolate, sound to the roots, quite a warm ground colour. Very good markings to the head, tail and legd, well broken spine, very good clear spotting on the body, just a little linkage to the rear, agouti overlay on the front edge of the spots which is inevitable, just a little agouti within the spots too. Very short close coat of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
Res Thorpe's UK IGRPR JOHPAS SPARKS WILL FLY (SIA d) MN 12.11.10
Another lad of lad of excellent type, pretty close to my ideal for a Siamese, making the class a challenge to place. Long even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, firm deep chin with a small beard, level bite. Eyes of excellent shape and set, of a very good depth of blue. Very long strong body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points look as though they might be a slightly pale red, but difficult to tell given the available light, lightly shaded body, coat a fraction long, a little full and of rather a rough texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Olympian AV Imperial Grand Premier Female

OGPC Webster's IGRCH & IGRPR FIORDILISO NANPEMA NUAGE (OSH n 03 33) FN 21.3.12
A girl of very good type. Medium length even wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Straight profile, slightly angled down from the brow, firm deep chin and level bite. Eyes of very good shape and set and very good depth of blue, especially considering the proximity of white. Long well fed body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Darkish warm seal points, moderately shaded body. White to most of the face, patches of colour round the ears broader on the left almost surrounding the eye, broad seal moustache. White to chin, throat and chest, to the complete underbody and part way up the sides, most of the front legs extending up over the shoulders, about half to the hind legs. In total, a little under half white to colour. Short close coat of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.
2 (Res N/A) Brider & Ms A Mackenzie's IGRPR NANPEMA HOLLY-GOLIGHTLY (SIA f) FN 2.12.10
A girl of superior type. Medium length wedge, good width at the top, well set large ears. Profile a little raised at the brow and then angled down slightly, firm deep chin and level bite. Eyes of good basic shape though rather full, well set and of a good depth of blue. Long firm body, long legs with neat paws, tail needs an extra fraction. Points of good warm seal well broken with shades of pale red, not much foreground red present to lift the colour. Coat a fraction long but close lying, of a slightly harsh texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Eyes of good basic shape though rather full, of a yellowy shade of green. Medium length firm body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail. Pattern colour a browny lilac-based caramel, silver undercolour is unfortunately almost completely absent in places, though elsewhere it does extend to about half of the hair length, some spotted pattern evident on the body. Short close coat of excellent texture. Excellent temperament and presentation.

Eyes of very good shape and set of an excellent deep green. Proportionate firm body, long legs with neat paws, balancing length of tail.
